Scenario - Exalted Above All others

This is an idea I had for a multi-player free-for-all.  We seldom play multiplayer games at my LGS, so I thought this would be a quick and easy way to entice regular players into the cut-throat world of four-player madness. This scenario was designed for four players, each equidistant from the middle of the board.  Fighting has been going on for some time in this theatre, and troops are weary and in need of medical attention.  Emergency supplies have been called in, but they've landed in no man's land and haven't exactly been configured properly... SETUP Place a marker in the exact middle of the board, equidistant from each player's deployment zone.  This marker does not block LoF, but the medical supplies are heavy and large enough that the market cannot be moved through normally. SCORING Picking up the medical supplies takes a Short Skill .  Any Doctor or Paramedic can pick up the supplies using a Short Movement Skill instead.  Models cannot an...

Scenario - Catching Beauty's Eye

Image
I flipped through Human Sphere at random while making lunch the other day, and I ended up landing on the Neo-Concubinage section.  After giving it a quick re-read, I thought it would be cool to design a scenario around trying to impress one of the most beautiful - and dangerous - socialites the Sphere has to offer.  So, with no further ado...

Scenario - Pendulum

Pendulum is a scenario designed to provoke fighting around the middle line, but it also aims to give players a chance to set up interesting maneuvers instead of just storming in to claim a last-minute objective. This game lasts for four full turns. Setup Pendulum has no special setup.  However, at the start of the game, note which models you have on the table.  Markers and G: Synch/Servant remotes do not count. Scoring All players start with 5 VP.  Players gain or lose VP at two distinct times: at the end of the second full game turn, and at the end of the fourth full game turn. As noted above, models that were not on the table at the start of the game do not count for VP at any point during the game.  AD and Camo models may help you strike at your enemy, but they do not help you score VP. Scoring at the end of the second full turn: 1) If you have no models outside both deployment zones, lose 1 VP. 2) If you have 2+ models outside both deployment zones,...

Scenario - Supremacy Protocol

I've been kicking this scenario idea around for a little while, and we finally had the chance to playtest it last night.  In the original design, there was only one middle room, and this led to a lot of slaughter and no real scoring chances.  With two possible scoring rooms, the game got a lot more interesting.

Scenario - Dog Bowl!

Image
Last week at my LGS, some of us got it into our heads to experiment with how Dog Bowl might play out on the table.  We both took a few Impetuous units to keep in the spirit of a high-aggression sport.

Scenario - Lights Out

This is a boarding action style scenario.  One player is the attacker, and one is the defender.  As the battle starts, the attacker has disabled the power in a localized area of the defending vessel to gain the element of surprise.

Scenario - Dirty Bomb

In the midst of a bloody civil war, remote scout units have discovered a buried heap of strange metal just outside a recently-bombed command post.  Rumour has it that the command post was set up to coordinate a dig, and the official presence of Archaeology scholars in the system corroborates this story. Unfortunately, the command outpost had no survivors, and the remote scouts went offline shortly after discovering the strange metal fragments.  Covert teams have been dispatched by interested parties, in an attempt to recover and investigate.  Many of these teams include a site-engineer or code analyst, to hasten recovery of information regarding the unknown metal. There is one small problem.  The bomb that was dropped on the command post was dirty, and large amounts of radiation linger in the air and soak into the soil.  This will undoubtedly affect any retrieval teams sent out, and casualties may even occur after the mission has been completed. Most comma...

Scenario - Kidnapping

This is a scenario that I devised a while ago.  An earlier iteration of it exists on the Infinity forums, but this version is updated with the result of some play experience.

Tournament Mission 3 - Catch Me If You Can.

A warning about this scenario: because there is a fixed amount of VP available, it is entirely possible to get to a point where one's opponent cannot catch up.  This scenario is designed for tournament play, where scoring as many victory points as possible is important, even if you lose.

Tournament Mission 2 - Grudges.

Mission 2 – Grudges Turn limit: 4 full turns.

Tournament Mission 1 - Touchdown.

The OIA is soon going to run a newbie-friendly Infinity tournament in the heart of Ottawa, and I thought I'd post some of the scenarios we'll be using on this blog.  Feel free to use them for your own games or tournaments!
