Assembly Misadventure!

I just picked up a bunch of Nomads for a new vanilla army, because I'm getting tired of running the same limited sectorial every week. I feel like it's pretty limited on a strategic level, so I just end up playing variations on the same game (with my lousy dice, of course!) whenever I hit the table. These new Nomads should fix my variety issue! Now, normally I have no problem assembling Infinity models. I don't pin them, because I think they're too delicate to abuse with further drilling (and besides, they don't usually need it!). My one and only exception was the Garuda, because damn - the ALEPH bots are a massive pain, and arms kept falling off unless they were anchored. My brief stint with BMG (the Batman Miniatures Game) reminded me of long-forgotten pain, as practically every second blister had some sort of casting error. When I say casting error, though, I don't mean lots of flash or even balls-too-big-for-sockets. Those are easy fixes. No, by "cast

The Golden Age - Yu Jing Heavy Infantry Over 50

Back in N2, there was a huge outcry about Yu Jing's heavy infantry. They were not, it was said, unique enough or interesting enough to warrant calling Yu Jing the "HI faction". Then a few newer heavies started to trickle out, and people got excited about the direction Yu Jing was headed in. Still, there were some serious problems of parallel: Hsien versus Aquila, Hac Tao versus Swiss, and so on. These issues made Yu Jing players wonder what exactly Corvus Belli meant by "HI faction" after all. Then came N3, which has basically become the golden age of Yu Jing heavy infantry. The faction now has so many choices that only the most cynical naysayer would try to argue that it is not the foremost HI faction in the game. In this article, though, I want to focus on the costly heavies; the ones that are harder to justify and harder to play because of their price tag. Not counting Sun Tze, Yu Jing has six distinct heavy infantry choices hovering around (or o

The reasons I left CKP - taken down from that blog by Endalyon

For those who may be interested, here is a repost of the reasons why I left Crits Kill People.  Endalyon took down my original farewell post and locked me out of the CKP account. --- Hey, this is Penemue.  I'm the fellow that brought you such articles as a rundown on the  Bane band , a criticism of the alleged  "uselessness"  of certain weapons, and a laundry list of  roles that players misunderstand  when they play Infinity.  I've been part of Crits Kill People since the start, when Tevesh suggested we start a blog that would become an authority on Batman and rival all the other blogs on Infinity. The dream was to release daily content to build our cache with readers, and I'd like to think we've succeeded pretty well with that. It's sad, then, for me to announce that I'm leaving CKP. There are a number of reasons I can't continue to work with this blog, but I promised Tevesh that I would keep this short and sweet.  Here goes. Although I

The depicted minis are complete to the best of my knowledge, but not new, so they could've been e.g. washed, stripped of paint, cleaned of flash/mold lines, have traces of pinning and/or tabs under feet removed/trimmed for mounting on bases. If you have a better photo of these models in a brand new state you'd like to submit, please do!
