Scenario - Lights Out

This is a boarding action style scenario.  One player is the attacker, and one is the defender.  As the battle starts, the attacker has disabled the power in a localized area of the defending vessel to gain the element of surprise.

This scenario has not yet been playtested, but I hope to get some games in with it this week.  Please test it out and let me know how it goes!

---

Turn Limit
4 full turns.

Setup
The battlefield should be a cramped and claustrophobic place.  Take the amount of terrain you usually use on an Infinity table and multiply it by 1.5.  There should be at least 5-6 distinct rooms, in addition to hallways.  There should be a small structure with a closed doorway in each player's deployment zone.  The doorway should face the centre point of the table.

Roles
The winner of the Initiative roll gets to choose one of the following options:
1) Be attacker. Deploy first and go first.
2) Be defender.  Choose table side and place two Mines anywhere in the legal deployment zone (as below).

Deployment
The attacker deploys all models within 8" of the small structure with a doorway on his/her side of the table.  Infiltrators, Impersonators, and models that must deploy with AD3 may deploy as normal.

The defender deploys all models on his/her half of the table, even if they don't have Infiltration or any other special deployment skill.  Defending models with special deployment skills cannot deploy beyond the middle line.

All models and equipment are placed on the board as FOG OF WAR markers.  Treat FOW markers as Holoprojector 1 markers that do not reveal any model type (they are blips on a radar), with the following differences:

1) Models cannot reenter FOW state.  Once they have been spotted, they are logged in the enemy system.

2) As soon as an enemy model comes within LoF of a FOW marker, that marker is revealed.  This happens the moment LoF is drawn, so it can occur after the first half but before the second half of a model's order.

3) Models can still use Camo under FOW markers, so it may be the case that a FOW marker is revealed only to show a Camo token in its place.

Special
The defender's ship is in darkness.  Treat the entire board as a Low-Vis zone.

Hackers or Engineers can restore regular lightning conditions in select areas of the board.
1) If a hacker (or Repeater) is inside a room, it can make a WIP -3 roll to eliminate the darkness in that room.  It can make the same roll to restore darkness to a room.
2) If an Engineer is inside a room, it can make a WIP roll to eliminate the darkness in that room.  It can make the same roll to restore darkness to a room.

Doorways can be opened with a Short Movement Skill that can be used in ARO (as per regular rules).  All doors begin closed.

Scoring
The defender is trying to prevent the attacker from reaching the door on his/her side of the table.  This door leads to more sensitive areas of the ship.  Calculate VP totals at the end of the game.

Attacker:
+3 VP for each model that makes it through the doorway on the defender's side.
+1 for each friendly FOW marker on the defender's side of the table.

Defender:
+1 VP for each room that has had light restored to it.
+1 VP if the attacker is in Loss of Lieutenant.
+1 VP if the attacker is in Retreat.

  1. Seems nice. Can't wait to try it on board.

    1. Let me know how it goes! I'm always looking to improve on these scenarios, and having more than one group trying them is really cool.

  2. I would love to try these out, unfortunately I am lacking in opponents and any kind of terrain/board to play with. Still interesting to read simply from a gamer point of view.

    1. That's unfortunate. :( Have you looked at the Infinity forum's living player database to see if there are any players near you?

    2. There is a small cluster about an hour down the motorway or 2 hours by rail but I don't technically have a car, and the train ride's just too long...
It also doesn't help that I'm shy as fuck IRL, but I've only got myself to blame there.
