Sun Tze v.2 Revisited

Image
I just got my grubby little hands on Sun Tze v.2, and I think that the review I gave him needs some revisiting.  Here he is again, in all his glory. When I wrote the review, I had thought that his left hand was on his hip.  This made him look silly, and definitely like a big game hunter who had just taken down his kill.  I wasn't a fan of this. After opening the blister, though, I saw more clearly that Sun Tze's left hand is actually reaching into a pouch at his waist, ostensibly for more ammo.  This takes Sun v.2 from "I just shot a biggun!  Check me out!" to "I just put a big hole in that guy way across the field...time to reload." And that just makes him more awesome. (We can chalk his open reloading pose up to sheer badassery, I think...)

Newbie Board Setup

Image
A while back, GoldenKaos had a great idea.  He suggested that I post a few table layouts for new Infinity players, so that they can see how much terrain we use.  A lot of the terrain showcased on the Infinity forums actually makes me uncomfortable in how open it is, so I asked Murm of MuRm's Minis  if he wanted to hang out for an afternoon and set up some tables.  Here are the results.

Scenario - Supremacy Protocol

I've been kicking this scenario idea around for a little while, and we finally had the chance to playtest it last night.  In the original design, there was only one middle room, and this led to a lot of slaughter and no real scoring chances.  With two possible scoring rooms, the game got a lot more interesting.

Posts in the works...

I know that I promised a newbie terrain setup post this week, but I've been swamped with work-related issues, so I haven't had much chance to work on it.  I have a skeleton and some photos set up, though, so look forward to it soon!

Scenario - Dog Bowl!

Image
Last week at my LGS, some of us got it into our heads to experiment with how Dog Bowl might play out on the table.  We both took a few Impetuous units to keep in the spirit of a high-aggression sport.

Brief experimentation with format!

Things might be changing (at least visually) over the next week, so bear with me as I try to figure out what's what! Slated for this coming week: a Dog-Bowl-style scenario and a newbie board layout for new players to try!

The Human Edge II

Part 2 of the Human Edge story, starring Antonio Botella. --- II. Antonio was not a traitor.  As he sat on the lounge chairs in the Everest ’s common room, he repeated it over and over in his head until it almost sounded true.

Scenario - Lights Out

This is a boarding action style scenario.  One player is the attacker, and one is the defender.  As the battle starts, the attacker has disabled the power in a localized area of the defending vessel to gain the element of surprise.

The Human Edge

I've been playing with the idea of writing an Infinity serial for quite some time now.  If this first bit gets a good reception, I might continue with it.  If not, I'll try other avenues! --- I. Antonio Botella looked out through the window, lifting a steaming cup of tea to his lips with his left hand.  Distant stars formed a backdrop for the countless ships moving sluggishly through local space, each waiting their turn to dock.  Trails of light streamed from clumsy, box-like vessels probably used for the repair or surveillance needs of the massive station. Under his right hand rested a small black box.

April Model Review

Image
Since I skipped over March's minis, I decided that I should get April's review out on time.  Good thing, too, because April is an awesome month for CB fans.
